Our Goals

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW

Our representative should be someone who advances the values we as Montanans share- playing fair and being honest. We should never give a pass to politicians who lie to us or abuse their power.

REPRESENTATION FOR EVERYONE, NOT JUST THE WEALTHY AND POWERFUL

Crony capitalists are systematically destroying this country by rigging the rules so that they always win and regular people lose. They are not only stealing money, they are stealing opportunities for people to better themselves and their families. They are taking over our government so that they can make deals that enrich themselves at everyone else’s expense. Because of this the wealth of this county is increasingly becoming held by the 1/10 of 1% which is good for no one. Politicians should represent everyone, not just the rich and the powerful.

The wealthy need to pay their fair share in return for the privileges afforded by this country. Tax loopholes should be closed. It is a disgrace that because of loopholes billionaires pay lower tax rates than hard-working Montanans.

EVERY MONTANAN WHO WANTS TO WORK SHOULD BE ABLE TO

People should be entitled to have the opportunity to advance themselves and their families through hard work. No one should struggle to find work if they are willing to work hard. No one should have to live in a homeless shelter or rely on food stamps while working full time. The government should resurrect a program like the Civilian Conservation Corps to combat unemployment and underemployment by providing jobs to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. This would be a “win-win.”

MONTANA’S FARMING AND RANCHING HERITAGE MUST BE PROTECTED

Most of Montana’s farming and ranching product is exported. Ripping up trade deals would destroy the livelihoods of Montana’s farmers and ranchers. And, cutting crop insurance and farm subsidies would leave Montanans exposed to disaster. We need to protect the safety net in place for Montana’s farmers and ranchers.

Why Choose Us?

HEALTHCARE IS A RIGHT, NOT A PRIVILEGE

We need to put people’s health above insurance company and health industry profits by expanding healthcare to everyone. This will be good for people who will all get health insurance without having to pay exorbitant insurance premiums, deductibles and co-pays, and good for businesses which have to compete in a global economy where other businesses do not have to provide health care to their employees.

CONSUMERS NEED TO BE PROTECTED

Banks and insurance companies won’t regulate themselves. They need to be regulated by people who are not in their pockets so that consumers can be protected.

It was a disgrace that we- the taxpayers- bailed out the banks which were “too big to fail” and “too big to jail.” Everyone should be held to the same laws. If my business fails, the government doesn’t guarantee me a profit. This is crony capitalism. The government should use its antitrust powers to break up banks which are too big to fail. No one is above the law- Bankers who break the law should be prosecuted and put in jail just like everyone else.

MONEY OUT OF POLITICS

Politicians should do what is best for their constituents, not the special interests who fill their campaign coffers. The terrible Citizens United decision should be overturned to reaffirm that corporations are not people and have no business meddling in our democracy.
